Immaculata乙.A. in music provides a strong liberal arts education together with broad musical training that allows you to develop your skills as a musician and pursue a range of career options without committing you to a specific profession.

“Music is one of my main sources of comfort. It grounds me and helps me grow and connect to other people. When I’m stressed, I play a favorite lullaby on the guitar, and I instantly feel less overwhelmed. My classes have shown me how impactful music can be, even for people without a music background. I’ve made great connections with coaches, professors and friends who help me take care of myself and stay committed to what I need to do. I’ve also learned to enjoy the little moments, have jam sessions and laugh. My advisors check in with me and encourage me, saying, ‘I know you can do it.’ They're both really supportive in making sure I can achieve what I want to achieve while I’m here.”

All music students gather weekly to listen to guest speakers and 表演者s who cover various topics in music and give recitals. Organizations such as NAfME (National Association for Music Education), Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA), American Music Therapy Association (AMTA), and Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) regularly visit the campus, offering students opportunities to learn more about their fields and to network with professionals.
You will have plenty of performance opportunities with IU’s musical organizations and ensembles.

You may also add an emphasis in performance to your B.A. In this program, you’ll hone your talent and develop discipline in practicing. But practicing doesn’t mean monotonous repetition. You will learn to practice in different areas, mastering the physical, 技术, 机械, 结构, 有节奏的, and interpretive facets of making music.
Immaculata is an All-Steinway School with Steinway concert grand pianos and numerous Steinway-made practice pianos. Each one is a hand-built work of art with incomparable tone and touch. 施坦威钢琴, the finest in the world, inspire students to develop their artistic talents and prepare them to perform at the highest level.
